As anyone who has ever journeyed to America can tell you, possibility, hope, and opportunity are still alive and well here. Bolivians we will always be, but in this new land, we also feel the joy and the freedom to be part of this great nation and celebrate all its richness, diversity, and opportunity. For
many years after settling in America our family has held the dream of one day opening a restaurant that served our traditional beloved Latin American and Bolivian cuisine. With that in mind, we started practicing our recipes and developing our cooking skills.
Of course, Salteñas topped the list of most requested foods as we tried out our culinary creations with family and friends. After many attempts and alterations in our recipe and techniques, we finally came up with our supremely perfect, mouth watering, and delightful Salteñas! Hot, puffy pastry filled with meats, vegetables and the perfect amount of tasty sweet, salty and spice. Just thinking of them, warm and toasty, fresh from the oven, they are so good, you just have to try them
. Thankfully, our recipe was so well received that the orders came in almost faster than we could fill them. We ultimately had to purchase a truck for delivery, and that truck also carried us closer to our dream of owning a family restaurant.
Beyond the delicious magic of our Salteñas, over the years and through a labor of love, as a family, we have created a full Latin American menu with a focus on Bolivian foods worthy of our homeland. Grateful for all our blessings we are so pleased to finally be able to offer all of our fresh and healthy cuisine at our beautiful new home away from home; ‘El Antojito’ restaurant in Olney, Maryland!
